If they did, then about when was it? The people called South Ossetians in the news are descendants of the Alans---also an ancient people. I think that they have populated the area called South Ossetia since the 13th century.

  1. No, the region was never historically a part of Georgia. The area was given to Georgia in the 1930's by a Georgian named Joseph Dzhugashvili, better known as Stalin.

  2. There is a Nationality called Osetins and they lived on the territory of South and North Ossetia  as 1 nation. When Josef Stalin has united Asian Republics of Russian Empire and joined them to Soviet Union he has devided Ossetia into 2 parts and gave Southern part to Georgia. By the way Stalin ethnically is Georgian his real family name is Djugashvili.

That's how 1 country and one nation was divided into 2 parts.

Contemporary Georgia backed by NATO wants to kill all of the ethnicities   (Ossetins, Abhaz and others) to occupy the territory forever.

They are killing families, old and young to prevail in this cruel action.
