Does anyone know if I can dual citizenship in Switzerland?

I want to move over there permantely, but I need to know that information first.

  1. Switzerland allows dual citizenship, so the only deciding factor would be your other country's rules.

    I don't know what happened in 1992 but my husband and his parents and brother have been dual Swiss and Canadian citizens since more like 1982.


  2. Yes you can have dual citizenship in Switzerland, effective as of January 1992. I have a few friends who have dual citizenship, it takes a while to get the Swiss passport if you are not married to a Swiss citizen.
