Does anyone know if Plan USA is a good charity for sponsoring a child from another country?

Today i signed up to sponsor a child through the organization Plan USA, and i was wondering if anyone knew if this a good company and if they will make sure my money gets to my sponsored child.

I saw a thing on TV about those organizations though not that one in particular.. and the children actually get about 20% of what's donated. The rest goes to cover media, staff pay, bills,  etc.. If it were me, I would donate to my local food bank or a local area organization.. they will usually be more than happy to give a copy of their "plan" which tells you how their money is allocated and who it helps.
