unwed daughter to place the child she's been carrying for 5 months, up for adoption?

Wouldn't a wholesome christian couple be better equipped to raise this promiscuous christian girls baby better. She's probably a crack head, right.

  1. Now I know why you have all this hate!! I finally figured it out!! Because you were forced (Because you're an adoptee, right?) To quit school at grade 2 and therefore you have trouble reading.

otherwise you'd see the article clearly says she's keeping the baby.. getting married... and her parents are behind her.

But that's just a front, right?? Some AP will sneak into the governor's mansion, hold the whole family hostage for that baby.

Like ELodie said.. get over yourself..

  2. i agree!  after all, an older, married couple will be better for the baby.  bristol will have the opportunity to continue her education and have a good life, without the hassle of a baby. LOL!!!

and the "shot-gun" marriage she's propsoing blows serious holes in her ideology... i'm willing to bet real money this young man pulls out!  no pun intended :-)

guess she might want to re-think alaska's "abstinence-only" policy.  obviously, it's not working.

ha.  sarah palin is a hypocrite, panderer and fundie loser. the only reason she's on the ticket is to get hillary's "PUMA" votes.

    she's dr. laura...with better highlights.

ETA: maybe..."born again virginity!"  that's too much. seriously, the most ridiculous thing about all that fundie, s*x-ed legislation bullsh!t is the whole "secondary virginity" part.

i can see the convo on her wedding night:  "honey, you said you were a virgin...so what's with all the stretchmarks, sagging skin, varicose veins and hemorrhoids?"

    absolutely ridiculous.

AND to those who think this is a non-issue, i vehemently disagree! although i do NOT think it's appropriate to judge bristal's behavior (she basically did what millions of young people do, everyday), i do think that calling s. palin on her hypocracy is warrented....since this nit-wit (who hasn't been properly vetted) wants to legislate morality on the citizens of this county, her inability to keep her daughter from geting knocked-up IS fair game!  if she spent more time parenting her kids, instead of breeding only to make a political statement, maybe she'd get more respect.

ok, good people...off to enjoy the rest of my holiday! happy labor day...

  3. You're real class-act by trashing a kid.

  4. All I need to say is that trying to force one's daughter to give up her baby still happens whether frequently or not. At 19, I was a high school graduate, engaged to someone I'd been w/for 2 years and in my own place. That didn't stop my dad and Aunt from trying to "make" me have an abortion. People still try to exert their "power" over other people's reproductive systems whether through abortion or adoption.

  5. I hope not. I don't think anyone should be forced to place a baby for adoption (though obviously a child may need to be removed for abuse or neglect, but that isn't the case here, and the child isn't even born.)

But honestly... there's no evidence to suggest that would happen in this particular family. It's utter speculation with no basis in fact. (ETA: Having read other responses, I now realize the fact is quite the opposite.)

I'm really uncomfortable with this stereotyping of Christians. I realize some Christian individuals and organizations have inappropriately pressured women into adoption, but that doesn't mean everyone in the religion thinks and acts the same way. Christian individuals are still individuals.

I have no strong feelings about Sarah Palin, and I'll be voting Obama/Biden, but I'm still uncomfortable with her being stereotyped and having assumptions made about her because of her religion. Palin's religion is her personal choice, and her business.

  6. Let us not judge the child. She made a mistake.

I hope that Palin now focuses on her daughter and future grandchild instead of on herself.

I feel so sorry for the girl and boy to have to endure what her mother brought upon them.

She should have never accepted McCain's offer and expose her daughter.

What a failure as a parent. And where does Mr. Palin fit in ?

  7. She is not going to force her daughter to place the child for adoption.  The daughter is going to marry the father of the baby and they will raise it.  If anything it sounds like marrying the father is being forced on the girl.  Here is a quote from Sarah Palin:  "Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family,"  Personally, I think a young woman raising a baby with the help of extended family is the ideal outcome of such an unplanned pregnancy.  I thought you thought that's what people should do as well.  Sounds like that's what's happening here.  So, what's with you spewing contempt about this?  It makes no sense.

    BTW -  Barack Obama 2008!

  8. Judging is not becoming.  First of all, as unfortunate as it is that she got pregnant - it could have happened the first time she had s*x. I know 2 Christian young girls that it happened to the first time, and they both repented of having pre-marital s*x and both got married and raised their babies. How dare you call her promiscuous when you don't know her.  And about drugs, you are a sicko, you know that.  I believe that she is going to raise her only child, but pray tell, what is wrong about adoption?

  9. Wait her daughter is pregnant AGAIN? Its been like 4 months since she had her baby aka her brother......weird. The plot just thickens with the Palin family, you never know whats gonna happen next....

  10. I think the daughter's pregnancy is a coverup for the fishy circumstances surrounding Sarah Palin's 5th child's birth...

  11. As an adoptive mother of 2 children, I was really shocked to read these responses.  Adoption has changed a lot over the years and can be an amazing gift.  As my son's birthmom told me, I new he (my son) was a gift from God.  "What I realized was that he was not my gift, but yours."

Both of my kid's birthmoms made this decision because it was best for the baby, not so that their life could be easier. Moreover, it was 100% their choice.  This choice included picking us as the parents.

My kids could not be more happy and loved.  Don't judge what you do not know.

  12. Of course she should give up her baby.  Only middle-aged, wealthy, college-educated people are allowed to have babies.

It is the responsibility of young pregnant girls to become born-again virgins by surrendering their babies.  Plus these girls get the added distinction of helping a family to be "built by adoption."  Ain't that grand?!

I hope her mother does the right thing and makes her give her baby away.

  13. Of course, because ALL unmarried girls are FORCED to place their babies for adoption, right?

    Get over it.

  14. Hmm....Wow!  How did I miss this?  I have been following the elections so closely and I missed this?

Oh, wait, that is because OBAMA = CHANGE

  15. WOW - labeling is such a nasty habit.

  16. Nah, it's more likely that she will convince her to get married and live a forced marriage.

  17. What?  You mean she's not pretending to be pregnant this time to cover for her daughter's pregnancy?

  18. Oh my god some of you people are so naive or ignorant. You don't know independant he's an anti adoption user.

Humour him , its his cool sense of sarcasm. Don't read the question as is. Understand his anger beneath . But not towards the unwed mother but towards her parents - Sarah Palin

  19. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080901/ap_o...

Sounds like she's keeping the baby and getting married.

  20. Irrelevant really but she is keeping the baby and getting married.

  21. Maybe you should repost this in the politics section.

And to answer your question, no, I don't think she'll be forced to do anything.

  22. If you could read you would know she is keeping the baby. And why would you assume that just because she is only 17 and pregnant that she is a crack head. It's that kind of narrow minded remark that show a persons intelligence. Just because a girl gets pregnant at a young age does not mean that she can't be a good parent.

  23. Let's not judge the future VP and her daughter. Can't you find some stupid girls on this site going "Um, my period is 8 months late and I'm fat, please help me" to pick on?

And no one will know that till her daughter gives birth. I am sure they will keep the baby within the family.
