No.  Scott's  dad is Mike Speed.  

His dad's name is Mike, and his brother's name is Alex. They're from California, so probably not related to Lake, who was from somewhere in the southeast.

The Speeds are pretty legendary in modern-day karting. Mike Speed is an electrical engineer by trade... made something for monitoring engines, and an programmable ignition.
