Does anyone know if VIZIO repairs TVs themselves or if they outsource it to another company to handle?

I have a VIZIO TV and they (VIZIO) put me in contact with a company who is in charge, supposedly, of sending out a repairman to your home. I am all fine with this set-up but they want me to fax documents back to them which have my credit card information on them. To me it makes no sense to provide my credit card information to someone before they do the repair work. I was just wonering what everyone's thoughts were.

Vizio does not use their own employees for in-home warranty service. They hire this work out to sub-contractors. They will want to see a receipt to show proof that you have paid for this TV and that it is still in the warranty period. Maybe you can make a photo-copy and mark-out with a sharpie your credit card info. I would not want to pass this information out with all the ID fraud going on!

Did you register your Vizio on www.vizio.com

and if so I would call up to the Corporate office and cask them why you have to do this.  

Your credit card info shouldn't be on the receipt just the last four of the card should be seen.
