Does anyone know if a Tamukeyama maple can be grown in a container outside in zone 5

  1. Its grouped in with the Japanese Maple, which will grow in zones 5-8, but does particulary well in zones 7-8.  I would say Yes it will.


  2. If the container is plenty big enough, has good drainage, and is placed in the right light conditions, why not?  I grow shrubs in pots on my deck, and they do just fine for years, as long as I remember to water them occasionally during the winter.  I'm in zone 6.
