Does anyone know if an Amercian can marry in Egypt?

I would like to marry someone from Egypt but I read somewhere that the US embassy will no longer issue the paperwork for an American to marry in Egypt. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Thank you

Contact the American Embassy and do not go after rumors. I am sure they will get back to you with valid information ina timely manner.

That's not true at all my freind married an Eygptian in Eygpt. It only becomes comlicated if you have to convert religons or transfer residency. Good Luck on the big day!  :)

i dont think its true unless they changed it since 2005 i dont know but my sister married to an egyptian an shes considered american because we were born in usa but were half egyptian an half (white) american

Don't worry, it used to be like that but recently the American embassy started issuing that paper you are talking about.
