  1. well it depends where you believe your father last lived?

i suggest you get into contact with the officials of that city.

i don't think its quite legal to give out names of the deceased without a legally backed reason.

  2. There is no national index, but there are some provincial indices. If you want to email his name to me, I can look through those that I have access to and see if he's listed. I'd need his name and approximate date of birth, last known residence, and if you think he'd have moved from say Quebec to BC or something bizarre like that.

  3. www.ancestry.ca

    Name:British Columbia Death Index: 1872 to 1979

    Category: Birth, Marriage & Death

    Locations/Listings: Canada; British Columbia -- 786,911 listings

Name: Riverside Cemetery Index, New Hambug, Ontario  Category: Birth, Marriage & Death

    Locations/Listings: Canada; Ontario -- 2,327 listings

    www.familysearch.org has these:

    Family History Library Catalog

Birth, Marriage & Death Vital Records

U.S., British, & Canadian Census Collections

What is your father's name, birthdate, and birthplace?? Maybe I can help you find him.
