Question:

Does anyone know if carrot juice stains can be removed from one of those soft white plastic cutting boards?

Or do I just need to throw it away every couple of months and buy an new one?

  1. I agree! Be sure to rinse very well after soaking!


  2. Put it outside in the sunshine.  After a couple of hours all stains will be gone.  Works well with tomato based staines too.  This works on all plastics i.e. Tupperware etc.

  3. Line you're board with white paper towels, put in sink, pour bleach over paper towels let set a couple hours,( the towels will draw the stain out, and on to it) this also works great on getting stains out of you're sink.

  4. No! No need to throw it away.  Just do this every night on the days you use it (this is what professional kitchens do with poly cutting boards).  Fill the bottom of your sink with enough hot water (or boiling if your water isn't very hot)to cover the cutting board and add in 1/2 cup of bleach.  If the  board floats, you can weigh it down with a heavy glass or something of that nature.  Let it soak overnight, or at least an hour or so....and that's it.  It will remove those stains, not to mention kill any bacteria hiding on the board and the bottom of your sink.
