Does anyone know if centerlink will be notified if am ammended tax return was put in?

I recently did my tax return, and made a few mistakes, I put in an ammendment does anyone know if I need to contact centerlink. I received FTB a. And when I did my tax return it said that i earned over $3000 more than I did, which put me over my estimate.....

  1. As far as I know, the government departments all share information between themselves so Centrelink will probably be notified automatically. But if you're really worried about it, call their customer service line (or the ATO's) and ask them.

  3. no you do not have to contact centrelink, the ATO will do all the work with reviewing your details, as your employee and government send your group cert to the ATO office, and thats where they check it up.

    i actually did mine wrong last year, and i wrote a letter, and about 8 wekks later they returned my extra refund. sometimes without realising it you did it wrong the ATO will usually fix it up automatically, and it ammend it themseves, cause thats what happend the year before last with mine

  4. Actually government departments are very slow at "sharing" their information. I was in a similar situation where I was actually getting underpaid by my employer. A company called Paycheck Investigators found the error for me. It did affect my tax return and I told centrelink about it and they had to adjust their record. At least you were underestimating so hopefully you should get some money off centrelink. Might be worth finding out if Paycheck Investigators can help you.
