Does anyone know if insect repellent can keep spiders away?

the insect repellent that you put on your skin that looks like glue and has a really sweet smell. i keep finding loads of spiders in my room and I'm terrified that they'll crawl on my face during the night. there not dangerous spiders or anything i just hate them! any tips would be great!

  2. Most repellents don't actually repel, they make you "invisible".

    Generally repellents are made to repel insects that use CO2 etc to locate you so they can bite. Since spiders are not really seeking you to feed on most repellents are not made to repel spiders.

    In the course of an average lifetime you will, while sleeping, eat 70 assorted insects and 10 spiders, bon appetite!

    There are lots of DYI  house insect spray kits available these days. I would either do it myself or call in pest control.

  3. Old saying " if you have spiders, you have bugs". Spiders are smart, they don't build were they cant catch. Use an indoor/outdoor spray that's sold at all home centers. I use Ortho, but there are others. When the bugs are gone, even if you cant see them, the spiders will be too.
