i've been in college a year and that really wasn't the college for me and needless to say i didn't do so well. but now, i want to redeem myself and go to another school. i was goin to go ahead and attend a community college to get my grades back up and then transfer to a local university and then transfer to a better school after that. so could anyone tell me if taking the ACT again will improve my chances of getting into a better school and getting more money from scholarships.

  1. I applaud you for wanting to try to improve your grades and continue with school!

If you're going to go to a community college and then transfer, you really don't need to transfer from the c. college to another local school and then to ANOTHER university.

If you are able to maintain a good GPA at the community college, you can simply apply to the university you ultimately wish to graduate from. Since most scholarships for high academics that base their requirements on ACT tests are almost exclusively for freshman applicants, so retaking it just for scholarship money would be pretty void since you'd be a transfer student.

As long as you are at the community college long enough to get enough credits under your belt to transfer as a transfer student, none of the universities you apply to will even care about your high school grades or whether or not you took the ACT or SAT.

  2. You would have to research my statement by contacting the university that you are interested in attending but I do not believe you can re-take your ACT once you have attend college. Once you have a college transcript any scholarship, admission, or ability to transfer is based on your grades not ACT scores. So the best way to get a scholarship or get into a better school is to get better grades in college.
