Question:

Does anyone know if its bad to ONLY eat the broccoli from the chinese dish beef and broccoli?

I have been dieting since April 1st and dont want to have a cheat day yet, but theres a chinese place that has a beef and broccoli dish that I LOVE the broccoli and sauce. I dont eat any of the meat. I know the sauce has calories, I know the broccoli would be literally probably 60 tops. But I am trying to figure out with the sauce how much damage I am talking here :) I know this is weird to only eat broccoli and sauce, but trust me theres other chinese food I LOVE haha

  1. Actually my all-time favorite chinese dish is brocolli in garlic sauce. I'm sure you could just ask for the brocolli. It would be cheaper than buying the beef and throwing it out, and you'd have less saturated fat in the sauce if beef wasn't cooked in it. The sauce is probably heavy in oils and the sodium is going to make your body retain water weight. But drink lots of water and you should be okay. You could probably even ask for a low sodium sauce.


  2. not bad for you!!! ask for just broccoli, sauce, and rice.. usually those chinese places will customize any order because they are happy to have any business at all! haha at least thats the way they are around here.

  3. I don't think it would be fattening but maybe would be high in sodium.  Most of your calories will be in the rice if you eat that.
