i have lime-wire and it hasn't done anything to my computer, you just have to clean your computer 1 or ti messed a week and you'll be fine.

I've had it on my mac for about a month now and it's running perfectly. Although my friend had a really old computer and it crashed because of limewire. So it depends on what computer you have, and how new it is.

i use lime wire pro

i have used it for over three years  and never not once have i had a problem  

i have over 10000 songs and 2000 videos  of course not all from lime wire

I hear and see people all the time that swear  lime wire is the biggest evil on the planet

However if your  downloading music etc   my files are on there  and they are 100 percent pure

limewire isnt safe at all. it ruined my computer even though i have firewall and great security systems and gave it like 50 viruses so i quit it the day after. it made my computer slow too. and also, u can go to jail for that. some 12 yr old girl went to jail for using limewire. its not safe.

Like all downloading programs, there are faults and viruses and there are things that you need to look out for. But overall, yes, Limewire is really very safe, as it has minimal viruses/trojans; etc.

All you have to do is be very careful about the files that you choose to download from it. Here are some precautionary measures to help you keep Limewire safe for your computer:

1. When you search for a track, look at the file size. If the file appears wayy too small (like 100KBs - most songs are about 3000+KBs), then the file is probably spam.

2. After you download a song, SCAN IT with a virus-scan program already existing on your computer BEFORE you open the file. This is very important - sometimes a file is spam and you will not notice this until you open the file, so by scanning the file beforehand you will save yourself a lot of trouble in trying to remove potentially unwanted programs from your computer. This is particularly important if you download a .zip file, as these usually carry other unwanted programs with them.

3. ONLY download file types that you recognise, e.g. .mp3, .wma. AVOID file types that are not regular such as .rar. They are often viruses.

4. If the file has no bitrate listed, do not download it.

limewire is defiantley NOT safe.  even limewire pro screws up your computer.  a much better and safer way to get free songs is to download a youtube to mp3 converter.  then all you have to do is find the song on youtube and it rips the audio for you.  google youtube to mp3 converter to find the program...its free.  works great and is 100% virus free. =)

well you run the risk of viruses and the risk of getting caught but as long as it doesn't start up with the computer its fine (won't slow it down) My sister actually got 2 viruses from it. make sure you have firewall and a antivirus program. Also it is safer to download songs that have more download sources. (it will have numbers on the side, and also will be located toward the top) After you get done downloading move to music folder. DO NOT have limewire download directly to your music folder point it to a location that has no other files in it. This is because limewire will let other computers copy your files and it is easier for the feds to track you

limewire is a cool thing to use to download free music but the problem is that when you listen to your music, either ipod or fone, it never shows an album picture. other than that it is pretty safe, no complaints i own a mac and nothing happened YET lol jk nothing to worry about. plain and simple thats all there is to it

well i had it for a while and i didnt notice anything wrong, but then my computor got really slow and it got a whole bunch of viruses, so ide recommend not using it.

Hasn't done anything to my computer so far, and I've had it for 3 years, so I'd say that it's safe.
