  1. anything and everything in life is negotiable....but for prom, the companies really try to stick it to you ....typcially charging high hourly rates

  2. Limousines traditionally charge per hour and likely will not only charge the highest rate of the season but also impose minimum hours, like 6-8 hour minimum...

If I knew what area you were in I could give you better information but I will tell you what I know.

If you call the companies in your yellow pages, you'll find they all are pretty much close in price, some may vary by 5 -10 bucks but anything more than that should be an alarm...

If you call everyone and your getting prices of 75 per hour plus gratuity and all of a sudden you find one for 50 per hour.... BEWARE, you get what you pay for and this is likely an old pieve of junk and or the operator isn't properly insured with commercial insurance, a BIG CONCERN when they are driving our most precious cargo, our kids.

Also beware of sale pitches that say LATE MODEL CARS, this is a term used to hide older equipment, if your cars are 06 or 07 you will state such as a sales person, if they arn't then the term late model is used to imply that your getting  a new or near new car...

Next you might actually want to stop by the company lot and inspect the vehicle you will be assigned...This helps insure that your getting what you're paying for and also gives you a chance to request to see the insurance policy/card to make sure they have proper livery insurance...

Most Chauffeurs are professionals and treat the kids like adults, provided they give respect in return... I go out of my way to allow my kids as much freedom as possible....

You CANNOT bring alcohol into the car as many proms have law enforcement waiting to inspect the cars when the kids go into the function, any illegal contrband could land the chauffeur in jail and have his commercial license revoked...

I personally tell my kids, that I am not going to report your activities to your parents but you simply cannot have alcohol in the car plain and simple... I never have problems out of the kids and they frequently offer an additional gratuity to me at the end of the night becuase they had sucha  good time...

There are of course jerks in every business and if you get one as a driver, tell him and tell his company about your experience, but also don't forget to thank him if you had a great time...and additional tips is the best form of flattery and thanks...

  3. yes normally they do....or sometimes offer a prom package.....check around and ask them if they have prom night packages and see if the difference is greater or less than hourly....

  4. around $50 to 75 an hour but you can get a better deal if you rent it all night. order it as soon as possible everyone has prom around the same time.
