Does anyone know if my 6'2" 275 lb boyfriend will have problems on rides at Universal Studios Japan?

We want to go to Universal, but I'm just afraid that the park might be built for small Japanese people, which we are not. If anyone's been there or knows someone who has and can fill me in that'd be wonderful.

  1. No he can't because the crews would have to be obliged to judge the seat and the protect bar are both beyond their function for safety.

I saw some giant American not allowed to ride due not to protectable  bar's reason at the park.

  2. I'm 6' 2" about 190lbs and I didn't have any trouble at Disney Sea Tokyo and Tokyo Disneyland.

  3. I am about the same size as your boyfriend and I have been to USJ, and both Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea.

I never had a problem getting on any of the rides or was told that I was too big for any of the rides, but there were a few that were a little cramped (though not dangerously so).

Some rides like JAWS or Juraissic Park have open seating (not form-fitted seating) so basically you can spread out a little. Same for any kind of train or boat ride. Rides like Spiderman or Back to Future where you have to climb inside are a little more cramped and there's not alot of leg room. But, if you can try to shift your legs a little to squeeze in.

I always kind asked the attendent at the from of the line to find me a little more room. I kind of cracked a joke at my own expense and most of the time they were pretty cool about it (like they would try to squeeze that one extra person in if there was room for one more).

Some attractions like T2 and Backdraft involve theater like seating or standing so they were no problem. Same for the shows.

ET was probably the most uncomfortable for me since you have to sit in a little car-like thing and go through the ride.

  4. Japan has sumo. I assume their rides can fit to their needs, so it should be all good.
