also, is there a drawer in the rooms that you can lock? (even with a masterlock brought from home)

Yes, the Norwegian Spirit has safes in the rooms, and an ATM machine (in the casino).

The safe works with either a four digit code that you enter, or a credit card, so there is no reason to bring your own lock, unless you want to use it on your luggage, which I do recommend.

I know that they have a counter to cash checks, but I am not sure about an ATM.  They do have safes in the room but I don't know about using your own lock.  Go to there website www.ncl.com

There should be an ATM at or near the purser's desk and also in the casino.  In addition, if you need cash you can go to the casino cage (only when the casino is open which is while the ship is at sea) and get cash by presenting your cruise card and requesting an advance.  I have done that several times and it saves ATM fees.  The amount of your cash advance is simply added to your cruise card account.

There will be a safe in your room that you set the passcode for.  It will be open when you enter the cabin and you enter a code to lock it.  It's big enough for passports, wallets, credit cards and money; its about a foot wide and 8 to 10 inches high.  You can also probably stuff a small pocketbook into it.

If you have something large to secure, like your laptop, what I do is put it in a piece of luggage under the bed and lock the luggage.  If you have a large sum of money or jewels you can request safe keeping at the purser's desk.

yes they have an ATM machine-it is always located by the percers desk or in the casino--also they have a safe in each room for your valuables.. it works on a combination.
