Does anyone know if pain pills can cause blood in your stool?

I have been taking pain pills for over a year now, but recently i have noticed that i have had blood in my stool, i just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem and what you think i should do.

  1. Depends on the type of pill you are taking, you do not state the name. Best of Luck


  2. You don't say what you are taking. Narcotic pills like Percocet or Vicodin doesn't, but Ibuprofen, Advil, Aspirin and the likes might, especially the Aspirin, the other pills I mentioned also contain aspirin, so I don't know what to tell you with knowing what you are taking. My wife has taken Percocet for years for Arthritis, and she also takes Morphine pills, and has never had any blood in her stool. Aspirin pills and the like thin your blood and therefore you can bleed easily. Other than that, Good luck to you young lady. You could have an intestinal infection, bleeding polyps in the colon or a bleeding stomach ulcer.Probably best if you check with your Doctor.
