Does anyone know if the 08/01/08 eclipse will be seen in Windsor, Ontario?

  1. The eclipse ends at sunrise in a tiny corner of Ontario on the south shore of Hudson Bay, but you can't see any of it in Windsor.  The same goes for the lunar eclipse the afternoon of August 16th.

    The next solar eclipse of any kind you'll see at Windsor is on the evening of May 20, 2012, when a deep partial eclipse starts shortly before sunset, but the sun goes down before reaching maximum eclipse.

    The next total eclipse of the sun you can conveniently see will be the one April 8, 2024.  Although Windsor lies just outside the path of totality (it's 98% partial there) a short drive to Colchester or Leamington will place you under the total solar eclipse.
