Does anyone know if the Panasonic SDR-H20 has a firewire socket?

If not, Is there anyway i can get around using the slow USB connection??

  1. The SDR-H20 uses USB 2, so its bandwidth is slightly higher than firewire.  Firewire isn't used for video because it's fast, it's used because it has something called isochronous mode - this guarantees that the bandwidth needed to download from a streaming device (tape) will be available all the time.  Data transfer from a disk can be interrupted, so it can get away with using USB.
