  1. I'm going to sound really opinionated with this answer, but... here goes! First of all, if the car you're going to spend 15 - 25K on needs an extended warranty because you're not sure it's even going to last until it's paid for, don't buy it!!! Second, do some hard research about the models you're considering and their reliability/cost to own records. Buy a good car, not just a car you think is "cool looking". Third, don't get an extended warranty for any product, ever!!! They are designed to make other people money, not designed to save you any at all!! Your best bet is to buy the best-made car you can find, and take good care of it, and then you won't need any extended warranty! If you finance your car for 60 months and add $30.00 a payment for that warranty, you've put $1800.00 in someone else's pocket! When you're at that Chrysler dealer, ask that saleman why he'd recommend that ex. warr. for a car, if the car he's trying to sell you is supposedly a great car!!! Be a responsible consumer and spend your money wisely... you'll thank yourself many times later on down the road! Good luck!
