Does anyone know if the efcc is a legitimate organization

was scammed over the internet by the nigerian internet swcam which is now well known. received an e mail from efcc which is the nigerian economic crime commission saying that our name was on the list of people in us that have been scammed and that upon a response from us they will help arrange a repayment of what was stolen,. dont want to walk inti another scam. are they legitimate or is it more bs. thank you

These emails seen on this site are sent from scammers who are trying to steal from people. --- I get at least 5 of those thingys a week. The last one said my long lost great great great grand great white hunter in Nigeria died without a will and I was listed as the last known relative and all I had to do to get 150 Million bucks was send them $2000 to handle the legal forms and permits!   Yeah, right!

--- I ran right out and cut them a money order for $2 grand and any day now I should be getting my check for $150 million!!! Why its so easy I even went out and bought a new Mercedes and a new house.

--- And if you believe any of that please send me $1000 and I will split the $150 million with you! I promise as soon as I get it I will send you half!!
