  1. Same voltage as in the UK but different plugs (two round pins). You'll only need an adaptor.

  2. It depends what you mean by "abroad."  If you mean Europe, the plugs are different but the voltage is about the same.  UK is 230 volts, Europe ranges from 216 to 253.

If you mean America, the plugs are different and so is the voltage (110).  You'll need a "step-up" transformer.

  3. Cyprus is the same as the UK, three prongs and same voltage. I moved here 6 years ago and have had no problems with my appliances.

  4. No. If you're traveling just buy a universal plug in a shop in the airport or the train station. Voltage is the same.

  5. no they are two pronged in europe and the voltage is lower 220 volts i think, you need to get a travel plug they have different prongs to fit into the sockets and then you plug your appliance into it, because the voltage is lower some hairdryers struggle to work properly so use the hotel's if there is one ........... good luck.

  6. no, and you can buy a universal adaptor that you can plug your things into at boots/superdrug and other shops.

  7. Hi.

The other guy is right, the continent and USA use two-pin plugs, you will need to buy an adapter and take it with you (tesco, Boots etc sell them for a few quid).

    Good luck, Steve.

  8. it is 2 pronged, you can buy an adaptor at  most diy shops, the voltage is only slightly different and will not affect any of your appliances.

  9. No, it's two pin on mainland Europe, different voltage as well.

  10. no its a two pronged plug on mainland Europe - but you can but adaptors almost anywhere
