I am looking for colleges but the major thing that is obstructing my decision is the fact that i have a severe case of ADHD and i barely made it through high school... so i am wondering if i can still get the same help that was offered to me in high school in college... does any one have any answers that might be able to help me???

  1. Yes, you are entitled to the same accomodations, as you received in high school.  You do have educational rights under the Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.  You can read all about it here: http://www.help4adhd.org/en/education/ri...

Whatever school you attend, all you have to do is talk with the disabilities office.

  2. I am not at all familiar with the federal laws and such, but I do know that at every college I've ever attended, they have student disability services for those who have a documented physical, mental, or emotional disability.  All you have to do is get the doctor that diagnosed your ADHD to sign a paper stating that you have this condition and that you would benefit from disability services.  Then you can get help with tutors made available to you, people to take notes for you, and you can have your tests read to you in the testing center.  I have ADHD, so I know the struggle!
