  1. Try looking for menus that have "bummalo" listed. or alternatively you can try China town in toronto which might list it as "lizard fish" or tiányú or jiŭdùyú.

There are several stores in chinatown that have a variety of fish that you don't commonly see.

  2. I am a former chef and know of a few that do prepare it, be like the Chinese poultry "peking duck" it is a specialty item and needs to be ordered a head of time.

There may be a few places downtown like the Bombay Place on Jarvic St, Indian Flavour in the Atrium on Bay, the best thing is to call around, some place that serves Northern or Goan cuisine.

Check the YellowPages.ca, City Pages, Toronto, under the Restaurant and Bar tab on the left column, under the By Cuisines tab, then scroll down to the Indian name and click, it will give you a list or just thumb through the Yellowpages in the phone directory under restaurants and in Toronto they are divided by cuisine.

I have had it in Canada and in Singapore, if done right it is quite tastey, but is a bit spicey.
