  1. I don't think so because the last time i was down there i don't think i saw anyone with a state inspection sticker

  2. All states require some kind of registration and inspection

Check the TN DOV web site to make sure.

  3. Nope!  Dont have to have them inspected.

  4. I've lived in TN my entire life.

With that said, I've never had to get my car inspected.  I'm assuming you're talking pollution levels.

Now, as far as a general inspection, it's good to check your tail lights, head lights, etc.  If any light is out, the cops will pull you over, and give you a ticket.

  5. I live in Nashville. My car has not ever been "inspected"

  6. There is no emission inspection for the state of TN.  For car registration you take title, your old license plate and pay. That is all. It costs about $75 or $100 per vehicle since there is a "wheel tax".

When you register your car, you will find that TN has a LOT of different plates to help favorite causes, or your school, or smoky mountains. There is even one to support wild turkeys! So, you might want to drop an extra $25-$40 for one of those plates if you feel strongly about a cause.

  7. no

  8. Yes sort of. I live in Tenn., some counties yes some counties no. But you do have to prove you live in the county. It is illegal to drive to a county that does not have inspections, even if you show "proof".  And no there are no stickers on cars but to get your tags renewed, you have to show proof that you passed. It is a 10.00 fee.
