Question:

Does anyone know if there are lockers available at La Spezia or Pisa Train Stations?

I'm traveling to Cinque Terre from Florence and going on that night to stay in Pisa. I cannot drop luggage off at my hostel in Pisa early enough to make it work, so I'd like to leave my pack in a locker somewhere before hiking the Cinque Terre.

I was thinking that train station lockers may be the way to go. Since I will be passing through La Spezia before and after my trip to Cinque Terre, that seemed like the best option. I could also schedule to go to Pisa before going to Cinque Terre and then return at the end of the day, although that's somewhat out of the way. I can't seem to find information on either the La Spezia Centralle station or Pisa Tutte Le Stazioni online. Does anyone know if lockers are available at these stations, or have any other ideas for storing a large backpack while sightseeing?

  1. Most of the Italian train stations have stopped using their lockers, seemingly post-9/11. However, the larger stations offer a left luggage service. I'm sure Pisa Centrale does, but I don't know about La Spezia.

http://www.comune.pisa.it/doc/t-62.htm (it's in Italian, but says there is a "deposito bagagli" left luggage open 24 hours at Pisa Centrale.)

The email address of the tourist office in La Spezia is cavallini.turismo@comune.sp.it You could try contacting them to see if there is a place to leave your bags (you may even be able to leave your bags with them!)

Buon viaggio! The Cinque Terre is amazing!!
