Question:

Does anyone know if there is a way to get the number when it comes up as private on caller ID?

I have been having this problem now for a couple of months. I am getting calls from someone who is blocking their number. When I answer they don't speak. When I let the calls go to voicemail, they leave really stupid or obscene messages. It is harassing and I want to file a complaint with law enforcement. Any answers besides changing my number would be helpful.

  1. Yep you phone your mobile operator. x

  2. call the cops and tell them. they'll track the lines. If they call  again u can say "call again and the police will find you" that usually scares them

    good luck :-)

  3. well the one way is calling your phone company they will tell u all that details .... its simple, but if i was in your boot i will change my no as you really dont wanna pass your details to someone u dont know as when ever u pick the phone u are usually talking to family memeber, friends etc

  4. Sometimes you can't find out what it is if the offending party has hardware on their end that blocks the number from being sent out.

I'd start with your phone company.  Work your way up the food chain in the IS department if you have to and ask them if they can tell you to whom the number belongs.  You can also contact your local police and see what their proceedures are for tracing the calls.

  5. I think *69 if in US

Call Law Enforcement and allow them to hear it now, they should be able to trace it, especially if it happens at same time each day.

  6. Call the police and file a complaint. They can get the phone numbers from the phone company.

  7. Yes, there is a way to do it, it will make the caller display their number. I was told about it years ago, never used it and don't remember what it was, sorry. Call the phone company and ask, they will tell you, wish I could of been more helpful to you.Good luck

  8. work on the police switch board, no calls are hidden from view on there. otherwise inform the police who will work with your phone supplier to trace the calls.

  9. *67 or *69

  10. you can NOT get the information for blocked caller IDs

you CAN have a trace put on these calls. dial *57 after the call is received, but before another call comes in. you may be charged for this feature, for more info on the call trace feature dial 1-866-trace-4-u

you can block private callers from calling you by activating ACR by dialing *77 (if you ever want to disable this feature dial *87) anyone with a blocked number will have to dial *82 before being able to connect to you

  11. i think there isn't anyway
