  1. According to Wikipedia, Father's Day is celebrated in many countries, including Spain.  The date listed for Spain's Father's Day in the Wikipedia entry is March 19th, but I am unsure of the year that chart was posted.

When I checked further, I found a 2007 holiday calendar for Spain.  The date listed on the Info Please site is June 17th. which is on a Sunday, so I think Wikipedia might have a mistake in its entry.

  2. Dunno! But what I can tell you is that theres no real father's day in England; its an invention of the greeting card manufacturers. Not too say that I object when my daughters send me a fathers day gift or card.! However,as Spain is a strongly  Catholic country ,you will probably find that all it's holidays, celebrations and  days are based firmly about  religious, saints and national days.

  3. Father's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world, but not always on the same day.

    Spain: March 19

It is called "Día del Padre" in Spanish meaning "day of the father".

  4. I am not 100% sure.

  5. Fathers Day in Spain is celebrated on march 19th. (although it is no longer really a holiday). The day chosen was Saint Joseph's Day...as St. Joseph was the "father" of Jesus on earth, and his saints day was thought the best way to honour all fathers.

The celebration of Fathers Day in Spain goes back to the mid-twentieth century.

Wikipedia is correct... Spain does not celebrate fathers day in june, many other countries do however, such as, for example, the USA, France and the UK.
