Does anyone know if there is software out there to turn your PC into a landline phone?

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any software that yoiu could use to answer phones for example on your PC using the voice modem and a headset. I don't want to buy another phone for my room because I don't have any space.

Skype is not a landline PSTN option.

Skype uses Internet to make phone calls.

I use skype with a USB phone plugged into the puter. unlimited calls to US and Canada. Works really well. You could use the microphone easily tho.
