Does anyone know if there will be a Halo 4 or any new series?

Cuz I'm sure we're all aware of how Halo 3 ended with the cliff hanger ending of Master Chief fallin towards that planet that looks to be Forerunner (possibly Onyx.) I just wanted to know if there has been any new info regarding a Halo 4 or something with MC because I'm pretty sure I heard that Bungie confirmed that Halo does not go into Marathon.

Halo Wars will be coming out next year. And they are making a Spartan tactical game. But the Master Chiefs story is over. They only intended it to be a trilogy.

There will be no Halo 4. Master Chief will never have his own game again. Unless he appears as an Easter Egg.

Bungie is also no longer a subsidiary of Microsoft and I doubt Microsoft would risk letting another company s******g up their IP.

Although you can say that Halo 4, 5, and 6 have already been released. At the end of Halo 3, master chief lands on Marathon and the fight continues. Bungie has already confirmed that the guy from their marathon games of the early 90's is master chief.

There might be Halo 4 or a Halo related game by Bungie. There are rumours that Bungie are developing a new game, but have not said what they are working on. They have said that it is NOT HALO WARS. Not much is known about it. A source has told Gamespot:

* That it will be a spin-off that resembles Ghost Recon and Gears of War.

* Tactical Shooter

* Less cartoony

* More bloody, violent and grim

* 8 player co-op

* NO MASTER CHIEF!!! OMFG!!

But this is only rumours. We all just need to wait and see. Nothing was mentioned at E3 about a new Halo, which means it will probably be a while until we hear anything else about it. It might be released late next year or with the next generation of consoles. The ending to Halo 3 certainly seems like there will be a new Halo.

At the end of Halo 3, before the credits theres a message by Bungie:

"Thanks for giving Bungie a community that has kicked *** throughout the years, and will continue to kick *** for many, many more…"

I think thats a hint, saying that there will be a new Halo.

Knowing Bungie, it's possible they would make a "Halo 4", except it wouldn't be called that. It'll probably a story of just Master Chief and Cortana surviving the unknown world that they drift to and must survive a new threat or something like that.

As for the Flood and the Covenant, they're long gone.

Halo Wars is the latest game that's coming out, but the story of this game takes place 20 years BEFORE the events of the Halo trilogy. Plus, it's not a tactical "run n gun" shooter like you see with Master Chief; it's a real time strategy game like in Warcraft3, where you make units, build up a base, and attack the opposing base.
