Does anyone know if this is possible?

Someone is born in England and is now living in The Republic of Ireland for a number of years and got married in The Republic of Ireland. Can this person have their marriage registered in the country of birth in this example it is England. The marriage in Ireland was in a Catholic Church. The husband is Irish. Anyone have any info on this?

May I add in case it helps that this person and her husband are planning on moving to the UK in the future.

Sorry if it is in wrong category. I am not sure where this should have been posted.

Thanks in advance for any sensible answers.

  1. Why don't you try contacting the Births deaths & marriages Dept of the council from the are that you came from?

That way you'd get the answer direct from the horses mouth (so to speak).

  7. Have done a quick trawl and can't see anything immediately.

You could try emailing this government address - it's the refional office for London - and pose the question to them. If they don't know the answer I'm sure they could guide you in the right direction.

Good luck and hope the move goes well.

  8. As far as I know there should not be a problem you are still part of the U.K. check with a solicitor just to absolutely sure but I cant see any problem with this and good luck and best wishes for the future.

  9. Not 100% on UK laws, but I think that you shouldn't have any problem. You would just need to apply for a marriage license just like you did in Ireland.
