  1. Why do you want to limit yourself to working as a waitress?  I'm sure your school has a placement office where you can apply for a paid internship position while maintaining your F-1 status, that way you get valuable work experience in the process too.

  2. Legally, no.  Student visa does not allow any type of work, whether full-time or part-time.  You may be able to get a job and get paid "under the table" as a waitress or bartender.

  3. Actually you can get a part time job through the school if available. These jobs can include waitressing. Make sure you go through the school. Getting a job on your own would be illegal.

  4. No, you cannot.  The student visa is for studying, not for working.  You could get a part time job with the institution you are studying at, but that is it.

To do otherwise, you are going against the visa rules and could be deported immediately.

  5. No, you can't.
