  1. Can you be a little more specific?  What sort of genetic testing?  Is there a family history?  Is this new in an individual?  Is there a confirmed diagnosis?

  2. It depends on what type of testing you'd like to have done.  If it's something fairly standard like cystic fibrosis or sickle cell carrier testing, you could probably just go through your regular OB/GYN.  If it's something rarer or something you'd like to have done due to something running through your family, I would suggest meeting with a genetic counselor.  The only hospital I know of in RI with genetic counselors is Women and Infants Hospital in Providence.  http://www.womenandinfants.org/body.cfm?...

Otherwise, you can find other genetic counselors in nearby states on the website of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (http://www.nsgc.org/zip_search/index.cfm...
