Question:

Does anyone know if you can use Bose speakers, and Bose sub using a non Bose receiver?

Would I need a different cable? The Bose sub seems to have a custom cable..

  1. Yes you can I use a Sony Receiver and a Pioneer receiver with bose speaker systems. Just make sure that if you have a 5.1 surround system that you have a 5.1 reciever etc etc. PS. I originally had a bose receiver and returned it for Sony, the Sony sounds a lot better with the system!

  4. yes, you should have no problem doing so as long as the receiver isnt too powerfull or speakers arent too weak for the receiver

  5. The Bose lifestyle system is completley propritary and cannot be used with any other system.

    Some will say that you can but since the set up is completely diferent from anything else out there you will only manage to over drive the sat speakers, and not get any base but the two front channels.

    It will work but the sound will be mediocre at best and will eventually kill the amp or speakers as the impedance is miss matched.

    I would suggest that you sell the bose set up and get a whole new system. Believe it or not you can get a whole lot more for a whole lot less. Let me know if you would like some suggestions.
