Does anyone know if you need to have a passport to go to mexico?

well im goin to mexico on monday but my passport is expired and i havent gotten a chance to renew it so can you give me some suggestions please i would be so grateful

Better check official sources - twice.  I thought they changed this because you need one to come back to the USA.  Your question also does not state your nationality and that is a huge factor in the answers.  Anyway, check with US Gov. and the airlines, if you are going by air.

It dependents on how you are traveling.  You need the passport if you are going by air.  You have some more flexibility if you are going by land or sea.  You need to see this web page
