  1. I'm Scottish, living in France and have been playing and watching rugby since I was seven (that's 22 years) and now commentate on international and French Top 16 rugby matches.

Whilst I'd love to see Scotland beat the All Blacks, I can't reasonably expect that to happen in the near future and as a lover of the game of rugby, I'd have to say that the All Blacks are the team I've always appreciated most aside from my native Scotland.

People from Australia and South Africa (both outstanding rugby nations) will tend to look negatively on New Zealand Rugby as there seems to be a sporting relationship between those countries, particularly nowadays with the frequency of Internationals in the Tri-Nations and the Super 14 competition, that is more akin to football in Europe than the mutual respect that exists between rugby playing nations in the Northern Hemisphere.

New Zealand may have only won one World Cup but their level of consistency and strike rate at test level is more impressive statistically than that of the Brazilian International soccer team.

New Zealand is a country with a population of 4,187,208 (at 13.59pm on Friday 17th August) yet they have consistently been either the best or the second best rugby playing nation on the planet throughout my lifetime.

Teenagers watching rugby nowadays tend to make the mistake of believing that All Black rugby began with Jonah Lomu and Christian Cullen, likewise, my generation tends to think of Zinzan and Sean Fitzpatrick as the fathers of NZ rugby but it shouldn't be forgotten that New Zealand were the dominant force in Rugby Union in the 1930s and even when Wales were supposedly the greatest rugby playing nation on earth in the 70s, they were frequently thwarted by the All Blacks.

All Black rugby is about rucking above all else. Nowadays the influx of polynesian players is a subject of debate and detractors of New Zealand will claim that the All Black machine pillages the likes of Howlett, Collins, Mealamu and Sivivatu from the Pacific Islands but these people tend to be Australians. Australia have had their fair share of Kefus and Ofahangaues and aren't complaining that Tuquiri hails from Fiji.

New Zealand is the greatest rugby playing nation on earth and any true rugby supporter either loves them or loves to hate them.

This is what they're all about :

None of the individual exploits you see here are possible without the collective effort of the pack. That's what rugby is all about and that's what the All Blacks do best.

P.S. Watch out for France at the Rugby World Cup 2007.

  2. I'm italian and I love them.

  6. everybody whos anybody knows the all blacks, i know em and love em, wearing their jersey right now, and im from ireland..

  7. I know them, but don't like 'em.

  8. The day they played against los Pumas (argentina), I was in my club watching my brother play rugby... and just beside us the all blacks were playing soccer!!! we couldnt pull ourselves together to go there and challenge them (they were bad anyway), so we just sat around and saw them.

  9. I'm from the US and the all blacks are THE team to cheer for around here.  I love them, and most of my team do, too.

  10. I am from Manila, Philippines. And I LOVE THE ALL BLACKS :)

They are soooo hot. Most especially Captain Richie McCaw and Dan Carter. :) Looking forward to World Cup 2011 :P
