Does anyone know of a company that recycles old computers or sends them to the Third World Countries?

I would ask your local council, most have schemes where they donate them to schools etc

They are then taken to India where they scan your old Hard Drive to get your bank details etc and then they knick your identity and clear out your bank account - I'd give it a miss.

Donate them to our Schools, because if they are sent abroad they will never arrive at the places you want them to.We have a lot of Schools which cannot afford them, and I think it would be wise to send them there.

check out your local charities - some are either desperate for computers themselves, or can pass them on to their members.

I volunteer for a charity based in North Yorkshire and thats what we do - we use donated equipment to up grade the machines we have for members use, then we offer anything else thats of use to members, and we recycle anything else that we can.
