Does anyone know of a computer program that can work miracles?

I would like to create images (very detailed Fairies) to make art cards to sell on Ebay. Problem is, Stick People are an accomplishment for me. Am I asking too much, or does such a thing exist?

  1. So you want software that will pull images out of your head and print them? If that existed, don't you think everyone would be selling fairy art cards on eBay? I sure would be.

EDIT: Sorry for the sarcasm, but the only fun to have on this site sometimes is to skewer the stupid questions. What did you think the answers would be like? Did you seriously think there was software out there that drew artistic images on their own?

  2. Well.. erm, no.

Sounds what you're really asking for is an image creation/manipulation program.  For that, there's nothing better than Photoshop in my opinion.  However, if that's out of your price range - as it is for most pople - give Gimp a lookup, its free!

Granted there is no program that will make you an instant Picaso, but with practice you can get quite good at making some decent images with these programs.

  3. I'm afraid you are asking too much.

    Sorry.

  4. How much time are you willing to put into it?

Assuming you're going to create the Fairies from relative "scratch" and not steal them from other people, you will either have to increase your drawing abilities or do it indirectly by learning a language of some sort.

You can try to become a 3d modeller and model your fairies that way and take screenshots of them and print it that way, however, I find it indefinitely harder to model things in 3d rather than actually sketching it. 3d Modeling is very complicated with all the rigging and whatnot. 3d modelling programs include anything from Poser to Google Sketchup and the such.

There are some software where you can click points and whatnot instead of free-hand draw which might be advantageous? The pen tool in photoshop lets you do that.

And I'm just curious, do you plan to sell actual cards that you've printed or someone else? Because printing of cards will take a high-end printer and pretty decent cards, especially if they're "very detailed". For such printing you probably would have to spend over 500 for the printer minimum unless you get a great discount. That does not include printing supplies such as ink or paper.

    Hope that helped?
