  1. I do not live in TX, but I have a child with autsim as well.  Do you have a caseworker for your child?  If you do you should be able to find a nursing company (in home aide) that will come to your house and provide care for your child.  This is paid for via medicaid or insurance or state subsidies.  Go to a local support group for autism and talk to other parents.  It is important to have a network of other parents in your area who can point you in the correct direction.

  2. I have worked at the YMCA childcare and at Kindercare and both take children with disabilities.

I havent seen any kids with autism while working there but we did have a few kids with CP and with downsyndrome.

I am sure they would take a child with Autism.

you may also want to check out www.autismspeaks.com  they can offer financial support for autism services such as line therapy.

go here for a list of afterschool programs in TX that cater to autistic kids.  http://www.autismspeaks.org/community/fs...

I have also been a line therapist with wisconsin early autism project.  They may have a similar program in TX.    www.wiautism.com

    Good Luck in your search

and good for you for wanting the best for your child.

  3. ask a local doctor they will probably know, some places will care very much, and some places are not so great, so do not be afraid to ask what they think

  4. I am really sorry to hear that your daughter has this. I"m not sure of any specific centers but I know in TX around Killeen/Ft Hood Austin Area there are centers that specialize in care for disabled children. If you go to your county office they might be able to refer a few. I know through Scott & White they offer programs as well.

  5. Do you have respite services? If so, you can hire someone to pick her up from school and watch her at home.

  6. Headstart prefers kids with disabilities. They will take all who qualify, but  disabilities are at the top of the list.

I have had both my children here and they are wonderful.

    And they are FREE
