Does anyone know of a free voice recorder I can download on my computer?

I have the pocket recorder put all of my recordings are fuzzy and really quiet. Some smart person tried to tell me to talk into the mic n all I had to say was that I am not an idiot! I do talk into the mic and my volume is turned up. I am not sure if the recorder or the mic is the problem but that is what I am trying to find out. Please leave a link to the download and no sypware please.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ It's a nice prgram. You can record yourself, mix sounds, and it's FREE!

Oh, and uh, make sure your microphone is turned on, that might be the problem
