  1. I use an Epson Stylus Photo R300 ($135) which is not sold anymore.  It does a pretty good job but the problem I get is when I have to cut the pictures since they sheets are letter size and I might have to print and 8x10 or smaller.

When I replace it I will go with a newer version of the same stuff.

For the most part I send my print jobs to Costco too and is pretty economic

    Hope this helps

  2. I have a good Epson photo printer (cost me a bit under $1,000 new), now I also have a Canon Pixma 610, which prints as well as the expensive one ! So go for the Canon.

  3. The epson 7880 Inkjet Printer just got a great write up on shutterbug magazine If you are looking for a more professional level printer

If you want more of a recreational one there are a number on the market and oneway to get one at a good price may be to try somewhere like craigslist. These printers are often give out as incentives with new cameras ( I just gave away an Epson R260 we got when we upgraded my wifes camera) so you see them for sale new in the box on places that usually sell only new stuff

  4. You want ink jet printers. For my business, I have a Epson 4800 and an Epson R2400. Quality is that of professional prints. I'm not sure what kind of price tag you're looking at. As oppose to getting a printer to do this, you might be better off send your pictures to a professional lab to get the kind of quality your looking for. If you don't plan on printing often beyond what you have now. The cost of ink and paper will exceed the cost of the printer.

Probably better and more economical to send your pictures to places like Mpix.com and have them print them for you. Psst not Costco.

  5. Hi Add

The best printer is Epson Color proofer which will get the max in print and the color is not only sharp, but realistic and used among 90% of printers when a customer needs a proof printout.

Here is the best link for what you need.
