I know you mention "cheap" hotel close to KL

I don't know how long you will be staying in KL, but would HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend the Pan Pacific

It is 600 metres literally IN the airport AND a bonus, you can check in FROM the airport

the staff are warm and friendly and the food is GREAT!

Cannot speak high enough about the place!

Pan Pacific is the closest, but its no cheap.. try Empress Hotel, quite far (10km) but there is transport straight from KLIA to Empress Hotel.. its a 3star hotel..

check out the Concorde Inn, which is only 5 minutes away from KLIA.
