Does anyone know of a good compact camera that can take still shots and video for between $300 to $500 dollars

Hi. I am a DJ and I would like to take photos and video footage at my events. I would like to spend between $300 to $500 dollars and would like to know if anyone knows from personal experience of a good camera that can take still shots and video all in good quality.

I do not have a lot of time to start researching and would like a suggestion to get the ball rolling.

My favorite, which I bought, is the Canon Powershot SD950-IS.  It has NO built-in storage, but you need to buy memory cards with any camera anyhow, so this is not a disadvantage.  I would say that on-board memory is only to be used as emergency backup anyway.
