Does anyone know of a good kids chat/message board for a 12 year old?

My son is 12 and would like to chat or just post with other kids his age any thoughts?

Well a good anime site is Gaiaonline.com there are journals he can read, and he even gets to create his own dream avi! He doesn't have to post his own picture, unless he wants to, the avatar pretty much is what he can go by. He can post journals, create his own house, and design his avatar. He can even go into GAIA TOWNS, and socialize with other avatars. It's pretty great. Just go to the bottom of the screen and click toens, and the screen will load, (i think you'll need flash player) but he can play fishing games, slots, and car games to earn gaia gold. He can also win daily prizes to dress his avatar.

Try putting a profile of the child in facebook.com.....he can really have great fun.

I don't think that is a good idea. You don't know who is on these sites. You can think your kid is talking to a fellow child and it could be a pedophile.

I wouldn't suggest web chat groups for kid because that is like a breeding ground for pedafiles and perverts.  Anyone can make up a profile on those things and say they are a 12 yr old boy who wants to hang out and your kid goes behind your back to meet the person and gets hurt.  If you are going to let him do something like that definitely make sure you monitor his computer usage (like sit right next to him the whole time) to make sure nothing like that happens.
