  1. Ahh another Britney Spears in the making.  The only way I would even think about doing such a thing with my child is if the CHILD expressed an interest in it WITHOUT any coaxing.  My advice is to let your kid be a kid and let her grow up naturally as a child instead of trying to bank on her future as "America's Next Top Model"

  2. Barbizon is amazing.

  3. i think it great that you want to encourage your daughter's outgoing personality but 5 is a bit young to start modeling don't you think? acting or dance sounds cool though. or swimming or sports....

  4. I think that first you need to find out whether your daughter is INTERESTED in acting/modeling.  If she thinks she would like to try it,  you can send pictures of her to a reputable agency like the Ford Modeling Agency (they have a website you can Google, which will tell you exactly what they are looking for in regard to pictures).  There is no need for her to attend modeling schools like Barbizon.  They charge a fortune, and there is no guarantee that they can "place" your child in any kind of job.   An agency that wishes to represent your child will teach her everything she needs to know.

Modeling is not for everyone, but if your child enjoys it and wants to do it, it's a wonderful way of earning money for her future education!

  5. Don't listen to people telling you that shes too young. I did baby modeling starting at 6 mos until I was 5 and I really enjoyed it! Make a trip to new york and look in the newspaper for talent seekers. I can just about bet you will find one.

  6. God....no....please........................ you child will become too aware of her body too early. It is not healthy.

I would enrol her in a children's drama class which would encourage her creativity and confidence. If you look in the phone book you will probably find some local classes. you could also ask around you friends and family if they recomend any.

Modelling might sound nice but she will only become obsessed with what she looks like and what she is wearing and YOU will have to buy all her clothes and shoes.

  7. some do start at birth so dont let that last answer get you down but im sorry i dont know where you woould find that info. I live in phoenix and im always hearig commercials for child actors wanted on the radio or seeing it in the paper but i never take my daughter, shes 18 months old,she won a beauty contest at 6months in las vegas, first place, we didnt plan on putting her in it but came across one at the mall. I wish i could help you more.
