Question:

Does anyone know of a good smoothie recipe without yogurt?

I would like to make sort of a meal replacement smoothie for lunch during the day, but I don't like yogurt. A lot of the recipes I have found include yogurt and I don't know what I can substitute for it or can I just omit it altogether? Any ideas?

My FAVORITE smoothie is the Strawberry-Lemon Twist at Smoothie King, but there is not one of those near me...any recipes?

  1. add your favorite flavor of shebert or sorbet, juice and use frozen fruit. If you use frozen fruit you won't need to use ice.

  2. i made a good mango-strawberry smoothie with strawberries, frozen peaches and strawberries (not necessary), and ice. it was more creamy than a normal fruity, icy smoothie though. i'm sure you can adapt it to whatever kind of flavors you want.

  3. Use silky tofu for the base. It will give you protein and a nice thick, creamy base for your smoothie but really doesn't have any flavor at all to mess with your fruit.

Bananas and milk or soy milk make a good base, but the silky tofu is thicker than the milk and gives you the protein you won't get from the bananas... particularly important in a meal replacement.

I dunno what the Strawberry-Lemon Twist tastes like, but I do have a recipe that has you add instant powdered lemonade or a scoop of concentrated frozen lemonade to the smoothie for sweetening and giving a very lemony flavor...give that a shot!

  4. HI there

Well being a small grower of strawberries, we needed to find many things to make from them, so we have had any varieties of strawberry smoothies.

I have no measurements but do have some ingredientsthat may help you out.

try a pina coloda mix with the strawberries, adds a nice twist

or try Orange juice with the strawberries, my ffavourite

my daughter like the lime mix with the strawberries

in all the of there is a big 2 L jug with berries & just a small amount of the mixes

Thats all I have, hope yoiu will enjoy these simple ideas.

  5. 1 Banana

    Vanilla Ice Cream

    Milk

Any other fruit you want. Like Banana Kiwi.

  6. substitute milk for the yogurt in any recipe

  7. You could use pasturized egg white, fresh fruit, ice, and sugar. I know it doesn't sound great, but you only use like 1/4 a cup of the egg white. I suppose you could use protein powder instead of the egg whites. Also, Starbucks has that new Vivanno drink, that is supposed to be a meal replacement.
