Question:

Does anyone know of a good website that posts diagrams of beginner karate moves - like opposing sword, etc.?

I just started taking karate, but find some of the moves a bit difficult to remember without proper diagrams. The karate websites are confusing to wade through for a beginner. Thanks for any help!

  1. It would definetly help if you listed what style of karate you are taking. There are many different types.

  2. If you're after video's, go to YouTube, regardless of what style you are studying, they will be able to assist.

For diagrams: Search for what you are looking for on: www.wikipedia.org.

Hope this helps and good luck with your training.

  3. Hi,

You got two good answers there so far. Tell us your school and style so maybe we can recommend an appropriate site (as you are new to karate you probably didn't know that there are many many styles and associations...).

Also, You Tube usually has lots of interesting stuff.

My only worry is...you mention "opposing sword"...sounds fishy to me. Never heard of that... please tell us your club name and style.

  4. Youtube is a great place to look. Most of the time you can find a

few dozen videos for any kata. Good luck.
