Does anyone know of a place that helps homeowners pay mortgage?

Start selling things that you do not need

Basically you got yourself into this, and you will have to depend on yourself to get yourself out of this. You took the mortgage, signed the papers, knew the cost, most likely was hoping for a quick profit which did not materialize, and now you have to pay the piper.

If someone did that, a lot of people would be getting someone else to pay their mortgage.  There are no places, short of your parents or grandparents, that would even consider it.

Some times the Red Cross can help.

Your mortgage company should work with you depending if it is working out a payment arrangement if the problem is short term, or refinancing if the problem is long term.  Just don't get caught in an Adjustable Rate Mortgage.  Be sure you get a fixed rate.  There are should be charitable organizations that will help you for short term problems.

If you feel that you might have a problem paying your mortgage talk to your lender before talking to anyone else, you might find them to be a lot more understanding that you would normally think.  Also new legislation is coming out to help homeowners pay their mortgage, you could wait until it comes out or you can consider refinancing into a FHA loan.  (guaranteed loan rates no matter wait your credit score is.)
